Gallery Image Our K'nex Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is based on the ride at Disneyland (the ride at Disney World is a mirror image). In our scaled-down model, runaway mine trains are simulated by K'nex balls, for which we are able to create fairly-detailed and controlled pathways. Each of the three chain lifts in the actual ride is included with its own electric drive, and as much of the ride detail as we had parts and space for. Particularly noteworthy is the double spiral in the center of the ride, right after the second chain lift. The split-path loading station is shown with a heavy roof of blue rods and red connectors.
